Start the Week with a Clean Slate
/I can’t claim I tackle things perfectly, but these tips have helped ensure I start Monday with a clean slate (not behind the ball) and don’t go to bed with 100 thoughts in my head (always the goal!). ✔️
I can’t express the power of one early morning weekend desk session. Here’s what I have learned with nearly 16 years of owning my own businesses + parenthood.
✨That peaceful quiet weekend hour before ALL the things start rolling - texts, kids, games, driving - can give you complete focus to dial in without anything coming your way.
✨ Tackle the things you keep putting off to get it done! They are usually minor, but hover in your inbox - sign up for the sports, write the thank you notes, get your returns moving, send calendar invites for the week, etc.
✨ Dial into your paper inbox - this is my favorite - go through each item and address it - then be done with it. Pay those pesky bills, electronic file your donations then recycle the paper, respond and handle.
✨ Respond or send the emails and use the “send later” feature to send Monday morning. Easy. ✔️
✨ Write your fresh to do lists for the week - personal, work, volunteer, family related. You will go to bed with a clear head for Monday.
I’ve always loved my quiet, early Saturday or Sunday mornings in my office. I light a candle and dial in on my PR + content creation businesses, volunteer life and the ever changing family life schedule.
Does anyone else carve out early morning weekend desk time? ✨✨
